LAKE FOREST, ILL – Erich Sternberg has joined national employee benefits provider Trustmark Mutual Holding Company as President of Voluntary Benefits and Chief Strategy Officer, reporting to President and Chief Executive Officer Kevin Slawin. In this role, Sternberg will lead the company's efforts in expanding its voluntary benefits offerings and driving strategic growth initiatives.

With more than 25 years of experience in life and health insurance, Sternberg brings a strong legacy of business development, operational expertise, and digital innovation to Trustmark. His leadership across multiple roles has shaped advancements in voluntary and employee benefits, life insurance, and strategy. Known for championing customer-focused solutions, Sternberg is poised to help Trustmark expand its suite of flexible, comprehensive benefit offerings for clients.

Sternberg most recently served as Senior Vice President and Head of the Workforce Benefits Division at Pacific Life, where he led the successful creation and launch of their employee benefits business. Prior to that, he joined Kemper to lead their Life and Health Division. He got his start in the industry when he joined Starmount, the dental and vision insurance company. He became President and then CEO prior to the company's sale to Unum. While there, he helped lead the company through more than two decades of double-digit growth.

Sternberg earned his MBA degree from Columbia Business School and graduated magna cum laude with a BA degree from Princeton University. He is a member of the ACLI’s Group Insurance Executive Council and LIMRA’s Workforce Benefits Advisory Board.
