He has more than 30 years of financial services experience across a number of executive roles. Before joining Trustmark, Kevin advised private equity and hedge funds on insurance industry-related acquisitions and investments. Within the industry, he spent 14 years at Allstate, serving in several executive positions at Allstate Financial Group, which encompassed Lincoln Benefit Life Co, American Heritage Life Co, Allstate Bank, Allstate Financial Distributors, LLC, Allstate Life and Institutional Markets. Leadership roles included President, Allstate Financial Distribution, Chief Financial Officer, Head of Operations and Technology, and CEO, Allstate Bank. He also served as Chief Marketing Officer and Head of Distribution for FBL Financial Group for several years.
Kevin is a certified public accountant. He earned a Masters of Management at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management and his Bachelor of Science in Accounting at Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business. He currently serves as a National Board Member, Executive Committee, of the Children’s Heart Foundation, the country's leading organization solely dedicated to funding congenital heart defect research.
John joined Trustmark in 1990 and over the last three decades has held a number of important leadership positions covering almost every area of the enterprise. In 2018, John was promoted to Executive Vice President, and his responsibilities now include overseeing Trustmark Voluntary Benefits and Trustmark Small Business Benefits. John is also responsible for the Enterprise Project Management Office and Business Continuity.
John earned a B.A. in mathematics from North Park University. He is a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries, a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and serves on the Lake Forest Graduate School of Management Board of Directors.
Steve joined Trustmark in 2014 from Coskata, Inc., a biotech clean-fuels company, where he was Senior Vice President, Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary. He began his career in private practice and brings to Trustmark broad in-house experience with public, private and international companies across a variety of industries ranging from financial services to manufacturing.
Steve graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in history from the State University of New York and earned his Juris Doctor Cum Laude at the Syracuse University College of Law. He also has a Master of Public Administration from the Syracuse University Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs and completed his MBA at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management. He is a member of the state bars of Illinois, New Mexico and New York.
Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer
Brad joined Trustmark in 2018 from CNO Financial Group, Inc., where he served as Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer. Brad has more than 20 years of technology leadership experience in insurance and financial services. He has led IT transformations that support business growth strategies by enabling quicker product innovation, improved customer experience through digital solutions, and more effective marketing through data management.
Bodell earned a bachelor of science in Industrial Engineering from Northwestern University and his Masters of Management from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management, Northwestern University. He serves as the Finance Chairman for the Indiana Youth Institute.
Dan joined Trustmark in 2019 as Senior Vice President and Chief Investment Officer. Dan brings extensive investment strategy and portfolio management experience gathered at companies including Allstate and Aon. Prior to that he was a member of J.P. Morgan’s capital markets team (initially First Chicago) where he held several sales, trading and quantitative research roles.
Dan holds a bachelor’s degree in philosophy from Lawrence University and a Master of Management in finance and marketing from the J. L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and is a member of the American Council of Life Insurers’ (ACLI) Investment Committee. He is a member of the Lawrence University Investment Committee that manages the institution’s endowment.
Senior Vice President, President, Trustmark Health Benefits
Nancy joined Trustmark in 1986. She was promoted to Senior Vice President, Compliance, Disability Income/Long-term Care and Individual Medical in 2004. In 2010, she assumed responsibility for Trustmark Health Benefits. Nancy has served on the board of the Trustmark Foundation, has chaired the Midwest Claim Conference and has served on various AHIP committees.
Nancy earned her bachelor of science in finance at the University of Illinois at Chicago and her MBA at Keller Graduate School.
Phil joined Trustmark in 2008 as Vice President, Finance, and was named Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer in 2010.
Prior to Trustmark, Phil was Vice President, Client Reporting and Informatics at Health Care Services Corporation, the Blue Cross Blue Shield licensee for Illinois, Montana, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas.
Phil serves on the Finance Committee of the United Way of Lake County, Illinois. He earned his bachelor of science in accounting from Bryant University and his MBA at the Northwestern University Kellogg School of Management. He is a Certified Public Accountant.
Steve joined Trustmark in 1992 and has more than two decades of experience leading and managing a variety of services for health plans. In 2019, Steve was named President of Trustmark Small Business Benefits. Previously, Steve was responsible for leading new product innovation strategies and corporate marketing initiatives for Trustmark Health Benefits. He also was a member of Trustmark’s new growth ventures team, driving the company’s diversification into new health services businesses.
Steve holds a bachelor’s degree in management and finance from the University of Iowa.
Paul joined Trustmark in 2002 as a Senior Vice President and Chief Operation Officer for Trustmark Health Benefits. He was named President of that business in 2007. Paul joined HealthFitness when it was acquired by Trustmark in 2010 and is responsible for HealthFitness’ health technology and platform-based health management product segment.
Prior to Trustmark, Paul was a Senior Vice President and Chief Operations Officer in Conseco’s Retirement Services Division. He earned a B.S. in computer science from Purdue University and an MBA at Butler University. He is a member of the United Way of Lake County’s Board of Directors.
Sean joined Trustmark in 2005 as part of the Government Relations team. Prior to being named President of HealthFitness, he held key leadership roles across Trustmark, including as Senior Vice President, Corporate Development, for HealthFitness, where he led strategy and product development, and as President, Trustmark Small Business Benefits.
Before joining Trustmark, Sean served as Assistant Vice President, State Government Affairs, for the American Insurance Association. Sean holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Marquette University.
Senior Vice President, President, Trustmark Voluntary Benefits
Alex joined Trustmark in 2006 as Vice President and Chief Actuary, Trustmark Voluntary Benefit Solutions and brings more than 30 years of industry experience with companies such as Horace Mann Insurance, GE Consumer Finance and AIG American General. He was promoted to Senior Vice President and assumed leadership of Voluntary Benefit Solutions in 2010.
Alex earned a bachelor of science in mathematics at the University of the Philippines and a master’s degree in actuarial science at Ball State University.
Senior Vice President, Chief Digital and Strategy Officer
Christopher joined Trustmark in 2020 as Senior Vice president, Chief Digital and Strategy Officer. In this newly created role, Christopher is responsible for enhancing centers of excellence in strategy, digital delivery, data and analytics, and marketing to elevate the customer experience and drive growth.
Prior to Trustmark, Paquette spent nearly 12 years at McKinsey & Company where he was a Partner in the Chicago office. He supported clients in all aspects of digital transformation and created, launched and led McKinsey’s Digital Academy.
Christopher holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Psychology from Northwestern University. He earned his MBA, with distinction, from Northwestern’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management.
Kristin joined Trustmark in 2013 as Vice President, Talent Management and was named Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer in 2015. Prior to Trustmark, Kristin was Director, Talent Management and Acquisition at Exelon Corporation. She has also served in various HR roles at Ameritech and Arthur Andersen & Company.
Kristin earned a bachelor of science in industrial/organizational psychology at the University of Illinois at Urbana/Champaign and a master of labor and human resources (MLHR) at The Ohio State University.
