Trustmark associates are slower than a speeding bullet and no match for the power of a locomotive. And they certainly can’t leap tall buildings in a single bound.

Trustmark associates are, however, the reason we have thrived for 110 years. And, as part of national Employee Appreciation Day, we celebrated “our superheroes” with a catered lunch from City Barbecue and sweet treats from Sugarcoated.

Trustmark employees enjoyed a lunch for Employee Appreciation Day.

"Our people are what make Trustmark special,” said Kevin Slawin, President and CEO. “Our associates commitment to caring defines our culture, from the way we work together to the way we treat our customers and support the communities where we live and work. The empathy and expertise of each associate helps Trustmark deliver on our mission to protect and improve health and wellbeing.”

In February, Trustmark offered associates the opportunity to take an optional survey to recognize and provide kudos to a colleague. Close to 500 submissions came in, celebrating associates throughout the country.

The most commonly used words to describe colleagues included caring, knowledgeable, helpful, kind, supportive, collaborative, passionate and hardworking.

More than half of our associates have worked at Trustmark for at least five years and more than a third for at least 10 years. In November, Trustmark earned Chicago Tribune Top Workplace recognition for the third consecutive year.

“I’ve never worked at a company like Trustmark that goes above and beyond to show such appreciation to its employees,” said Mary Cowles, Senior Digital Producer.
