How to Fight the Flu

As the flu continues to spread across the U.S., here are three ways to fight back1:

Get a flu shot. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) still recommends getting vaccinated if you haven’t already. It can help you avoid getting sick or reduce the length and severity of illness.

Be preventive. Important everyday actions include washing your hands often with warm water and soap, covering your mouth and nose when you sneeze, and cleaning and disinfecting household surfaces and items.

Take antiviral drugs if your doctor prescribes them. These medications can make the illness milder, reduce the time you are sick, and prevent serious complications.

Remember telemedicine!

If you are out of town or unable to reach your primary care doctor, consider telemedicine.
